Sono state annunciate le nomination alla 18esima edizione degli Screen Actors Guild Awards, il premio di categoria degli attori di Hollywood e uno dei più influenti per quanto riguarda le nomination agli Oscar (gli attori sono la fetta più numerosa di membri dell'Academy).
Accanto a nomination previste (DiCaprio, Pitt, Clooney, Dujardin, Streep, Swinton, Close, Plummer), non scontate le numerose nomination per The Help. Molto in evidenza anche The Artist (che emerge come chiaro frontrunner, nonostante si fatichi ancora a immaginarlo come tale per gli Oscar) e The Descendants. L'assenza di un film come Molto Forte, Incredibilmente Vicino e di Uomini che Odiano le Donne potrebbe essere dovuta al fatto che molti voti erano già stati inviati prima degli screening di questi film (che usciranno a fine dicembre). Ma si fa sentire molto anche l'assenza di Drive, Shame, Hugo Cabret e The Tree of Life.
