È Mad Max: Fury Road il film del 2015 secondo la National Board of Review. Si tratta di una importante associazione americana di cinefili (composta da studenti, insegnanti, appassionati, storici, membri dell’industria del cinema) che pur dando il via alla stagione dei premi, non influenta particolarmente l’Academy, ma senza dubbio infiamma l’Oscar Buzz. Dal 2008 che l’NBR non premia un film che poi vincerà l’Oscar: l’anno scorso ha premiato A Most Violent Year. Negli ultimi 20 anni sono solo 4 i film che hanno poi vinto l’Oscar.
