A poche ore dai Golden Globes, la penultima grande cerimonia di premiazione di un’associazione di critici (prima dei Critics’ Choice Award, ex BFCA) ha nominato Lady Bird miglior film del 2017.

Si tratta della National Society of Film Critics (NSFC), i cui premi spesso finiscono per coincidere con gli Oscar (negli ultimi due anni hanno vinto Moonlight e Spotlight). Si tratta di un’ottima notizia per la pellicola di Greta Gerwig, che ha ricevuto il premio come miglior film, miglior sceneggiatura, miglior regista e migliore attrice (Laurie Metcalf). Miglior attore Willem Dafoe (The Florida Project), mentre miglior fotografia Roger Deakins (Blade Runner 2049).

Nell’anno dello scandalo Weinstein, in una Hollywood sensibile più che mai alla figura delle donne (il tema è anche la parità di trattamento sia nei ruoli di potere che negli stipendi, non solo le molestie sessuali), Lady Bird potrebbe diventare il primo film della storia scritto e diretto da una donna a vincere l’Oscar (The Hurt Locker di Kathryn Bigelow era scritto da Mark Boal). La pellicola di Greta Gerwig ha senza dubbio il fortissimo sostegno della critica, questa notte potrebbe ricevere quello della stampa estera (ma attenzione: le quattro nomination includono film e sceneggiatura, ma non regia), e a quel punto avrà solide basi per proiettarsi verso gli Oscar.
