Come da tradizione, Fandango ha pubblicato la classifica dei film più attesi del 2020 dai suoi utenti. Al sondaggio del più grande sito di prevendita di biglietti cinematografici degli Stati Uniti hanno partecipato oltre 2000 fan del cinema, e si tratta di una top ten decisamente variegata. Accanto ai blockbuster e cinecomic più o meno scontati, infatti, compaiono pellicole meno ovvie come il musical In the Heights – Sognando a New York, l’horror A Quiet Place Part II e il film d’animazione della Pixar Soul.

I primi quattro posti della classifica, poi, sono tutti di pellicole dirette da donne: Wonder Woman 1984 di Patty Jenkins, Black Widow di Cate Shortland, Gli Eterni di Chloé Zhao e Mulan di Niki Caro. Al settimo posto c’è poi Birds of Prey, diretto da Cathy Yan: è la prima volta che la classifica è così diversificata, e dimostra come finalmente a Hollywood si stiano creando più opportunità anche per le donne dietro la macchina da presa di blockbuster a grosso budget. E sebbene vi siano film più o meno originali, anche quest’anno la classifica è dominata da franchise, sequel e spin-off.
