Questa notte si è tenuta la cerimonia degli Emmy 2022, e ha incoronato numerosi vincitori, molti dei quali ampiamente previsti, tra cui Succession, Ted Lasso, The White Lotus e Squid Game.

In corsa per i prestigiosi premi c’erano i titoli distribuiti sul piccolo schermo dal 1 giugno 2021 al 31 maggio 2022, situazione che ha quindi escluso la possibilità di ottenere candidature a show come la stagione 3 di The Boys o The Old Man.

Di seguito trovate tutti i vincitori, compresi i premi assegnati la scorsa settimana (come quello postumo a Chadwick Boseman per What If…? o quello a Nathan Lane come guest star per Only Murders in the Building).

La cerimonia si è svolta al Microsoft Theater di Los Angeles ed è durata tre ore: nonostante ciò, molti discorsi di accettazione sono stati spezzati. Le vittorie di Succession (che aveva 25 nomination complessive), Ted Lasso e The White Lotus (entrambi con 20 nomination), dicevamo, erano ampiamente previste. Numerose, peraltro, hanno doppiato l’anno scorso: Succession, Jean Smart, Jason Sudeikis, Brett Goldstein, mentre per Julia Garner è addirittura il terzo Emmy consecutivo. Zendaya è l’attrice più giovane a vincere due Emmy consecutivi. Last Week Tonight di John Oliver ha vinto il settimo Emmy consecutivo come miglior talk show, oltre a quello per la scrittura.

In tutto questo, si fanno notare i premi ottenuti da Squid Game, prima serie non in lingua inglese nominata come miglior serie drammatica, premiata per la regia e l’attore protagonista (primo attore a vincere un Emmy per la recitazione in una serie non in lingua inglese). Inoltre, per la prima volta da diversi anni non è RuPaul’s Drag Race a vincere l’Emmy come miglior reality: il premio è andato a Lizzo per Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.

L’unica serie broadcast, Abbott Elementary, ha ricevuto il premio per la miglior sceneggiatura comedy e per la migliore attrice non protagonista in una comedy (Sheryl Lee Ralph).

Altro premio atteso era quello a Jennifer Coolidge (migliore attrice non protagonista per The White Lotus), al suo primo Emmy.
