Reg E. Cathey è morto, addio alla star di The Wire e Outcast

Reg E. Cathey, attore vincitore di un Emmy per House of Cards (dove interpretava Freddy), è morto ieri a soli 59 anni. Apparentemente negli ultimi anni combatteva contro un cancro.

La notizia è stata diffusa da David Simon, creatore di The Wire:

Reg Cathey, 1958-2018. Non solo un bravo, magistrale attore -- ma semplicemente uno degli esseri umani più deliziosi con cui abbia mai condiviso lunghe giornate sul set. Anche solo a livello di umorismo, poteva doppiare qualsiasi umano e lasciarlo lì a riflettere. Reg, la tua memoria è una benedizione.

Reg Cathey was one of a kind. Brimming with life force, generosity, humor, gravitas and a fountain of talent. Loved by everyone lucky enough know him and work with him. He will be greatly missed.

Dopo aver debuttato nel 1984 in un film tv intitolato A Doctor's Story, Cathey ha lavorato in numerosi film (tra cui Nato il Quattro Luglio, The Mask, Se7en, American Psycho, Fantastic 4) e serie tv, tra cui recentemente anche ad Outcast.
