Z Nation è stato rinnovato per una quinta stagione. L'annuncio proviene dal CEO di Asylum David Michael Latt, che su Twitter ha espresso la propria soddisfazione per la decisione presa da SyFy. La quarta stagione della serie post-apocalittica si è conclusa il 15 dicembre con un doppio episodio season finale.
