Two definitely and long waited news come from Marco Morabito, producer of the new Suspiria remake, due to be directed by David Gordon Green.
For all the italian and international fan of the 1977 classic horror movie from Dario Argento it will come as a breath of fresh air in a sea of uncertain rumors what Morabito answered to the insisting questions from italian critic and film school principal Francesco Alò in Rome, after an open air screening of I Am Love (starring Tilda Swinton, also produced by Morabito).
He confirmed several rumors and denied only one. David Gordon Green will be the director, even though Pine Apple Express' surprise success was about to create some problems, as many appealing offers suddenly started coming from Hollywood major studios; Dario Argento finally has agreed to let the rights of the screenplay for the remake, it took nine months to convince the director who in the end accepted because, as Morabito reveals, "is by the way convinced that his movie is a masterpiece and can't be overshadowed".
So there's a script, a studio and the shooting will start at the beginning of the new year.
Finally when questioned by Francesco Alò about the supposed casting of Marilyn Manson in a supporting role, Morabito laughed out loud: "No, it's just a rumor. I read it too on the internet and I don't know where it comes from! We never even thought about that".
