Ha veramente fatto man bassa di premi Gomorra, il film tratto dal romanzo-denuncia di Roberto Saviano, agli European Film Awards, considerati gli Oscar europei. Sono cinque i premi che ha vinto, e tutti nelle categorie principali: miglior film, miglior regista (Matteo Garrone), migliore attore (Toni Servillo), migliore fotografia (Marco Onorato) e miglior sceneggiatura (Maurizio Braucci, Ugo Chiti, Gianni di Gregorio, Matteo Garrone, Massimo Gaudioso e Roberto Saviano).

Il film, a questo punto, dovrebbe avere la nomination come miglior film straniero agli Oscar in tasca, ma molti sostengono che potrebbe strappare anche qualche nomination tecnica come Il Labirinto del Fauno nel 2006. Non a caso, ha già iniziato la promozione con alcune immagini For Your Consideration …

E intanto negli USA iniziano a fioccare i premi della critica. L'altra sera sono stati assegnati i premi della National Board of Review, e The Millionaire ha vinto quello per il miglior film, oltre a migliore attore (Dev Patel) e migliore sceneggiatura (condiviso con Il Curioso Caso di Benjamin Button).

Gli NBR un anno fa avevano predetto esattamente gli Oscar, ma non capita sempre, anzi l'anno scorso è stato un caso isolato. Comunque, se anche quest'anno si ripeterà, vorrà dire che anche David Fincher ha ottime possibilità di essere premiato visto che ha vinto come miglior regista. Interessanti poi i premi a Gran Torino (il quale viene proiettato agli screening in questi giorni, e non sta avendo un enorme successo su RottenTomatoes, anche se le recensioni sono solo sette): Eastwood come migliore attore e miglior sceneggiatura originale.

Nessun premio per Il Cavaliere Oscuro, Revolutionary Road, una menzione per Defiance – ma un anno fa Il Petroliere venne dimenticato agli NBR, mentre agli Oscar prese molte nomination. Trovate tutti i premi qui sotto:
