La Writers Guild of America West/East, ovvero il sindacato degli sceneggiatori americani, ha annunciato ufficialmente le nomination al premio di categoria 2013.
Considerati un forte indicatore sia per le nomination che per le successive premiazioni degli Academy Awards, i WGA verranno assegnati il 17 febbraio durante una cerimonia a Los Angeles e New York.
Tra le sorprese di quest'anno, emerge The Perks of Being a Wallflower, adattamento del romanzo Ragazzo da Parete diventato un piccolo cult. Anche Looper, come sceneggiatura adattata, potrebbe spianare la strada al film di Rian Johnson per una nomination all'Oscar (come si auspicava Jason Reitman). Prevedibili invece le altre nomination: molto probabilmente rivedremo questi film tra pochi giorni nella lista dei nominati agli Oscar, dove peraltro permane la divisione tra sceneggiatura adattata e originale.

La cerimonia degli Academy Awards si terrà al Dolby Theatre all'Hollywood & Highland Center di Hollywood domenica 24 febbraio 2013 e verrà condotta da Seth MacFarlane. Le nomination si terranno il 10 gennaio 2013, nelle prossime settimane verranno fissate anche le altre tappe.
