Per il ruolo di Kingo nel film sugli Eterni dei Marvel Studios Kumail Nanjiani ha subito una impressionante trasformazione fisica, come possiamo vedere dal suo ultimo post su Instagram.

L’attore di Silicon Valley e di The Big Sick ha ammesso di aver lavorato “troppo sodo e troppo a lungo” nell’ultimo anno per non condividere sui social i frutti del suo sudore.

Ha poi ringraziato la Casa delle Idee per il suo nuovo aspetto:

Non mi sarebbe stato possibile senza un anno intero con i migliori allenatori e nutrizionisti pagati dallo studio più grande al mondo. Sono felice di avere questo aspetto, ma capisci inoltre perché non l’ho mai avuto. Sarebbe stato impossibile senza queste risorse e questo tempo.

I never thought I’d be one of those people who would post a thirsty shirtless, but I’ve worked way too hard for way too long so here we are. You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. I found out a year ago I was going to be in Marvel’s Eternals and decided I wanted to transform how I looked. I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world. I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before. It would have been impossible without these resources and time. So big thanks to @grantrobertsfit who started working with me at the beginning of the year and made me understand true physical pain for months and months. Then, once we started shooting, a massive thanks to @davidhigginslondon and his team (@ellispartridge, @thebeardypt, @tomcheesemanfitness) for training me almost every day and making me strong, limber and injury free. I can almost touch my toes now. (And thank you for forcing me to do cheat meals David.) Matthews Street Catering for their delicious and healthy meals. And finally, the biggest thanks goes to @emilyvgordon for putting up with me complaining and talking about only working out and dieting for the last year. Nei fumetti, gli Eterni sono stati creati milioni di anni fa tramite esperimenti dei Celestiali. Gli Eterni terrestri fisicamente sembrano come noi, ma hanno abilità straordinarie come super forza, capacità di volare, teletrasporto, controllo della mente e così via. Hanno vissuto in città spaziali e hanno difeso la Terra da varie minacce. Nella storia hanno ispirato antiche divinità come gli dei romani, greci e norreni. Il film si concentrerà principalmente su una manciata di loro.

Scritto da Matthew e Ryan Firpo, Gli Eterni è diretto da Chloe Zhao e vede nel cast Angelina Jolie (Thena), Richard Madden (Icarus), Salma Hayek (Ajax), Kumail Nanjani (Kingo), Lauren Ridloff (Makkari), Brian Tyree Henry (Phastos), Lia McHugh (Sprite), Don Lee (Gilgamesh).

L’uscita è prevista per il 6 novembre del 2020.
