Oscar 2017: La La Land, Arrival e Deadpool tra i nominati ai premi della Writers Guild of America!

Sono state annunciate oggi le nomination all'edizione 2017 dei premi della Writers Guild of America, il potente sindacato degli sceneggiatori, la cui premiazione si terrà in due cerimonie in conemporanea a New York e Los Angeles il 19 febbraio.

Al contrario di diversi premi di categoria, i premi della WGA fanno le stesse identiche distinzioni degli Oscar nel premiare le sceneggiature, dividendole in film originali e adattamenti (con l'aggiunta però dei documentari). Ricordiamo che i WGA tendono a essere dei forti indicatori per gli Oscar, soprattutto nell'assegnazione dei premi: l'anno scorso La Grande Scommessa e Spotlight vinsero i WGA e gli Oscar nelle rispettive categorie.

Quest'anno ci sono pellicole previste da molti, come Manchester By the Sea, La La Land e Moonlight, e film meno scontati come Loving o Hell or High Water. Moonlight e Loving, agli Oscar, si troveranno nelle categorie opposte: se i WGA li riconoscono come film originali, l'Academy li includerà nelle categorie degli adattamenti, il che andrà tenuto presente in sede di compilazione delle previsioni, visto che sono entrambi film molto forti.

Tra le sorprese, la nomination a Deadpool come miglior adattamento: il film affianca pellicole come Hidden Figures, Animali Notturni, Barriere e il fantascientifico Arrival. Da notare però che film come Florence, Lion e Zootropolis non erano candidabili ai WGA ma potrebbero ricomparire agli Oscar, come giustamente fa notare Deadline.

Le candidature saranno annunciate il 24 gennaio, mentre la cerimonia di premiazione avrà luogo il 26 febbraio al Dolby Theatre di Los Angeles. La diretta sarà trasmessa dalla ABC, e rilanciata in più di 225 Paesi in tutto il mondo.
