Ricordiamo che secondo alcuni rumour le riprese del sequel potrebbero iniziare il prossimo marzo.
Con un budget di circa 85 milioni di dollari (escluse P&A) e un box office globale di 306 ottenuto poco prima della chiusura dei cinema di tutto il mondo causata dall’emergenza sanitaria del nuovo Coronavirus, Sonic – Il film si è dimostrato un buon successo per la Paramount, motivo per cui la notizia di un sequel veniva data sostanzialmente come scontata.
Basato sul famosissimo franchise videoludico Sega, SONIC – IL FILM racconta la storia del riccio più veloce del mondo e della sua incredibile avventura nella sua ‘nuova casa’, la Terra. Nel film, Sonic e il suo nuovo migliore amico Tom (James Marsden) si uniscono per difendere il pianeta dal genio malvagio, il Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) e dai suoi diabolici piani per il dominio del mondo. Il film, pensato per ragazzi e famiglie, vede tra gli altri la partecipazione di Tika Sumpter nei panni di Annie Wachowski, la moglie dello sceriffo Tom.
Del cast fanno parte Ben Schwartz (Sonic), Jim Carrey (Dr. Robotnik) e James Marsden (Tom Wachowski).
