Sono state annunciate le nomination agli Orange British Academy Film Awards 2012, detti BAFTA, sorta di Oscar dell'industria cinematografica inglese che come sempre includono anche produzioni cinematografiche americane. Da sempre sono considerati dei vaghi indicatori per gli Oscar, anche se ovviamente si concentrano maggiormente sul cinema inglese, e infatti anche quest'anno alcuni dei film maggiormente nominati sono tra i favoriti per i premi dell'Academy.

Guida tutti The Artist, con ben 12 nomination, seguito da La Talpa con 11. Hugo Cabret ha nove nomination (ma sono principalmente tecniche), My Week with Marilyn ne ha sei, The Help e War Horse cinque, Drive (nominato anche come miglior film), The Iron Lady e Harry potter e i Doni della Morte – Parte 2 ne ha quattro. Paradiso Amaro, L'Arte di Vincere, Senna ed E Ora Parliamo di Kevin ne hanno tre. Le Idi di Marzo, Uomini che Odiano le Donne, Shame, Le Amiche della Sposa e Le Avventure di Tintin: il Segreto dell'Unicorno solo due.
