La Warner Bros ha annunciato che il sequel del cinecomic di James Wan approderà nelle sale cinematografiche statunitensi il 16 dicembre 2022. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, co-sceneggiatore del primo film, tornerà anche per il sequel. Nel cast Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Dolph Lundgren e Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Le riprese di Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom sono in corso nel Regno Unito con il titolo di lavorazione Necrus.
