I critici di Toronto e Houston non vanno d'accordo su nulla, se non nel frenare The Artist: premiati infatti The Tree of Life e The Descendants...
La Toronto Film Critics Association e la Houston Film Critics Society hanno annunciato i vincitori dei loro premi della critica. Scelte decisamente diverse tra loro: a Toronto ha trionfato The Tree of Life (miglior film, miglior regista), mentre a Houston ha scelto The Descendants di Alexander Payne, dando poi il premio della regia a Nicholas Winding Refn (Drive).
