Il presidente dell'Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Tom Sherak e l'attrice nominata all'Oscar Jennifer Lawrence hanno annunciato le nomination all'84esima edizione degli Academy Award.

L'Academy da quest'anno ha reso disponibile in streaming l'annuncio tramite il canale youtube degli Oscar, che vi abbiamo presentato qui sotto fino a qualche minuto fa (ora l'evento è terminato), seguito dalla lista completa dei nominati e dalle statistiche.

La cerimonia degli Academy Awards, condotta da Billy Crystal, si terrà poi il 26 febbraio 2012 al Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®, e verrà trasmessa dalla ABC Television Network negli USA. In Italia Sky Cinema1HD trasmetterà la diretta dalle 22:55, con il commento da studio di Gianni Canova, Francesco Castelnuovo e Martina Riva, in collegamento dal red carpet con Simona Ventura.

Ovviamente, come ogni anno, noi seguiremo la cerimonia con un live blogging!

 

 

ALCUNE CONSIDERAZIONI

Le sorprese quest'anno non sono mancate. Accanto a nomination piuttosto scontate (soprattutto la valanga di nomination per The Artist e Hugo Cabret), in varie categorie sono spuntati nomi che forse non tutti si aspettavano, e sono scomparsi alcuni dei favoriti.

  • Nella categoria Miglior Film si è speculato per settimane cercando di determinare quale sarebbe stato il numero di nominati (il nuovo sistema prevede una forbice tra 5 e 10 film, i 5.783 membri dell'Academy hanno votato una scheda con cinque scelte). Fino all'ultimo si è parlato di 7-8 nomi, e invece alla fine sono stati nove. Una delle sorprese è la presenza di Molto Forte, Incredibilmente Vicino, che alcuni davano per spacciato (curiosamente ha ottenuto solo un'altra nomination, Max von Sydow). Non stupisce particolarmente l'assenza delle Amiche della Sposa (che ha ottenuto altri riconoscimenti), così come la presenza di War Horse (stiamo parlando di Spielberg).
  • J. Edgar è stato completamente ignorato dall'Academy, stesso dicasi per Shame (era abbastanza scontato visto il rating NC17). Nonostante la spinta promozionale (più volta all'home video che altro), Harry Potter e i Doni della Morte – Parte 2 non ha ottenuto le ambite nomination principali (solo 3 nomination tecniche), e Andy Serkis non è stato nominato come attore per L'Alba del Pianeta delle Scimmie.
  • Se guardiamo agli incassi, il favorito di quest'anno non sta andando molto bene negli USA (12 milioni di dollari finora). The Artist tuttavia potrebbe avvantaggiarsi proprio da queste nomination per ottenere un certo boost al box-office americano. Stiamo comunque parlando di un film muto in bianco e nero. Per quanto riguarda Hugo Cabret, le nomination lo aiuteranno in particolare nei mercati internazionali, dove conta di fare buoni incassi. Nonostante si dicesse che Uomini che Odiano le Donne avesse qualche problema al box-office, grazie all'infornata di nomination il film di David Fincher arriverà a 100 milioni nei soli USA tra pochi giorni. Tra i film ancora in sala sembra che sia Paradiso Amaro il titolo ad aver dato maggiori soddisfazioni al box-office prima delle nomination, avendo superato da poco i 50 milioni.
    I maggiori incassi comunque li ha ottenuti The Help, con 169 milioni negli USA. Buoni i risultati di Moneyball L'Arte di Vincere (75 milioni), mentre War Horse potrebbe incrementare i suoi 72 milioni grazie alle nomination. The Tree of Life, che negli USA ha incassato 13 milioni, potrebbe tornare in qualche cinema.
  • Per quanto riguarda gli attori, sorprende l'assenza di Albert Brooks (Drive) come miglior non protagonista, così come l'esclusione di Tilda Swinton (nominata ai SAG) e di Leonardo DiCaprio (nominato ai SAG). Si conferma l'anno buono di Melissa McCarthy, nominata per Le Amiche della Sposa. Buone notizie anche per Gary Oldman, che finalmente ottiene la sua prima nomination all'Oscar. In pochi si aspettavano la nomination per Demian Bichir per A Better Life.
  • Le nomination alla sceneggiatura sono andate lisce come l'olio, tranne quella per Margin Call, che in pochi si aspettavano.
  • Stupisce abbastanza la categoria Miglior Canzone, che quest'anno si riduce a due film: I Muppet e Rio.
  • Grossa delusione per la Pixar: Cars 2 non ha ottenuto la nomination. Tuttavia Enrico Casarosa e il suo La Luna hanno ottenuto la nomination come miglior corto animato (e per quanto riguarda gli Italiani, Dante Ferretti arriva alla sua ennesima nomination).
  • Sempre sul fronte film d'animazione, l'assenza delle Avventure di Tintin lascia abbastanza allibiti, detto questo il cartoon di Spielberg è stato nominato per la miglior colonna sonora (due nomination a John Williams quest'anno, l'altra è per War Horse ovviamente: sono la numero 41 e 42 per il musicista).
  • I fan di Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross piangono sicuramente la mancata nomination per la colonna sonora di Uomini che Odiano le Donne.
  • Parlando di record, Steven Spielberg e Kathleen Kennedy grazie a War Horse ora hanno il maggior numero di nomination per un produttore, ben sette. Woody Allen ottiene la sua settima nomination all'Oscar come miglior regista, stesso dicasi per Martin Scorsese. Meryl Streep consolida il suo record del maggior numero di nomination per un attore: 17 (14 come attrice e 3 come attrice non protagonista). Woody Allen consolida quello del maggior numero di nomination per uno sceneggiatore, tutte e 15 nella categoria di miglior sceneggiatura originale (ha vinto 3 Oscar). Le 42 nomination di John Williams come miglior colonna sonora sono a un pelo dal record di Alfred Newman, che ne ottenne 43. Williams è comunque a 47 nomination (includendo le altre che ha ottenute), è la seconda persona ad aver ottenuto più nomination dopo Walt Disney (grazie a Antonio per la segnalazione).
