Oscar 2013, le nomination per i premi di categoria di suono e costumi
Ancora premi di categoria: sono state annunciate le nomination della Costume Designers Guild e della Sound Editors Guild...
Nuove nomination a premi di categoria, riconoscimenti assegnati agli artisti che si sono distinti nell'anno passato nelle varie "guild" di appartenenza a Hollywood. Ciascuna categoria è divisa in più sezioni (solitamente a seconda dell'ambientazione del film), ma le premiazioni tendono a essere ugualmente degli indicatori per gli Oscar.
Nel caso della Costume Designers' Guild, tutti e cinque i nominati all'Oscar per i migliori costumi sono inclusi nelle 15 nomination, suddivisi nelle varie categorie Storico, Fantasy e Contemporaneo. Essendoci più spazio, ecco arrivare riconoscimenti anche a film purtroppo ignorati dagli Oscar come Argo, Moonrise Kingdom, Lo Hobbit, Cloud Atlas, Hunger Games (Judianna Makovsky riceverà anche un premio alla carriera) mentre stupisce l'assenza di Django Unchained.I vincitori verranno annunciati il 19 febbraio:

Molto più strutturate le nomination ai Golden Reel Awards, ovvero i premi di categoria dei responsabili del sound editing (montaggio del sonoro). Film come Argo, Lo Hobbit, Vita di Pi e Skyfall hanno ottenuto, per esempio, quattro nomination, mentre Il Cavaliere Oscuro: il Ritorno, Django Unchained e Lincoln ne hanno ottenute tre. Le 22 categorie includono cinema, televisione, animazione, computer entertainment e lavori di studenti. Ang Lee riceverà un premio speciale il 17 febbraio, giorno della 60esima cerimonia di premiazione.
