Si sono tenuti questa notte a Los Angeles i Golden Globe Awards, la cui 81esima edizione è stata trasmessa negli negli USA dalla CBS e in streaming da Paramount+, preceduti da un red carpet calcato da numerosissime star tra presentatori, nominati e ospiti.

In attesa dei dati sugli ascolti, fondamentali per determinare il futuro dei Globe dopo la recente “ristrutturazione” (ora sono di proprietà di Eldridge), la partecipazione della Hollywood che conta è già un dato importante, anche solo per dimostrare come l’industria abbia deciso di tornare a sfruttare l’occasione di una grande cerimonia come piattaforma promozionale a poche settimane dalle nomination agli Oscar in una stagione dei premi compressa a causa degli scioperi.

E se da un lato la serata è stata un mezzo disastro per quanto concerne la scrittura (come ha sottolineato lo stesso conduttore Jo Koy durante il monologo, decisamente non riuscito: “Mi hanno dato questo lavoro dieci giorni fa, le battute che vi stanno facendo ridere sono quelle che ho scritto io”), sul fronte delle premiazioni è andato tutto come doveva andare, con i riconoscimenti principali che sono stati assegnati a Oppenheimer (film drammatico, regia, miglior attore protagonista e non protagonista in un film drammatico a Cillian Murphy e Robert Downey Jr., miglior colonna sonora), Povere creature (miglior commedia/musical, migliore attrice in una commedia/musical a Emma Stone), The Holdovers – Lezioni di vita (miglior attore in una commedia/musical a Paul Giamatti, migliore attrice non protagonista a Da’Vine Joy Randolph), Il ragazzo e l’airone (miglior film d’animazione), Succession (miglior serie drammatica, attore, attrice e attore non protagonista a Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook e Matthew MacFadyen), The Bear (miglior serie comedy/musical, attore, attrice a Jeremy Allen White e Ayo Edebiri), Beef – Lo scontro (miglior miniserie, migliori attori in una miniserie a Steven Yeun e Ali Wong).

Tra i (relativi) colpi di scena, il fatto che Barbie sia uscito sostanzialmente a mani vuote se si pensa alle grandi ambizioni: al film di Greta Gerwig sono andati i riconoscimenti per la miglior canzone (ha vinto quella di Billie Eilish & Finneas) e per il miglior risultato al box-office (“soffiato” a Taylor Swift, che era presente in sala come rivelato solo poche ore prima). Grande serata per Anatomia di una caduta, che oltre a vincere come miglior film internazionale (niente da fare per Io capitano di Matteo Garrone) ha ricevuto anche il premio per la miglior sceneggiatura. E sebbene Lily Gladstone abbia ricevuto il premio come migliore attrice in un film drammatico, si tratta dell’unico riconoscimento andato a Killers of the Flower Moon di Martin Scorsese.

Una nota a margine: la “nuova” giuria dei Golden Globe è stata ampliata rispetto alla precedente, ed è composta da buona parte dei giurati storici dell’Hollywood Foreign Press (un centinaio di membri della stampa estera di stanza a Hollywood) e da un nuovo gruppo più diversificato di giornalisti internazionali (circa 200). Il risultato lo vediamo nella lista dei vincitori: premi decisamente meno bislacchi che in passato, forse davvero in grado di influenzare anche l’Academy, che nei prossimi giorni si dedicherà a votare le nomination agli Oscar.
