Dopo aver dominato le nomination, The Creator ha dominato anche le vittorie alla 22 esima edizione dei Visual Effects Society Awards, i cosiddetti VES Awards, i premi della categoria degli artisti degli effetti visivi. Il film di Gareth Edwards, i cui effetti sono stati curati da Industrial Light & Magic, ha conquistato cinque premi, tra cui quella per i migliori effetti visivi in un film fotorealistico. The Creator è anche candidato all’Oscar per i migliori effetti visivi, ed è attualmente il favorito rispetto agli altri quattro nominati, che sono Godzilla Minus One, Guardiani della Galassia Vol. 3, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Parte Uno, Napoleon. Negli ultimi dieci anni però solo quattro volte il vincitore del VES Award ha vinto il rispettivo Oscar. L’anno scorso Avatar: la via dell’acqua vinse diversi VES Award e conquistò poi l’Oscar.

Guardiani della Galassia Vol 3 ha vinto due VES Awards: miglior fotografia virtuale e miglior personaggio digitale (Rocket). Oppenheimer ha vinto per i migliori effetti speciali pratici, Nyad quello per i migliori effetti a supporto. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ha ricevuto quattro riconoscimenti nelle categorie del cinema d’animazione.

Sul fronte televisivo i premi sono stati dominati da The Last of Us, con quattro vittorie.
